Some of you may or may not realize, but I am the editor of an independent magazine called Comix Magazine ( www.comixmagazine.com ) and we are looking for submissions for next year's annual issue.

For those of you who do not know, I aspire to work in the Interactive Entertainment Industry on the Audio side of things.
There is plenty of skepticism (or at least I've received some and, in addition, surprise at hearing this) because my major(s) in college are English: Creative Writing and I'm adding Japanese: Language and Literature.
Nonetheless, it is my intention (as it has been for several years) to write/create music for at least a partial living.
I have a plan, however, (at least a loose one) of how I will go about achieving this, and while a couple of my sub-plans include winning the lottery (even though I don't play) the main one

Recently I purchased some minor recording gear, mostly for doing field recording, but also I purchased my first pair of studio monitor headphones.
Basically, I have never before heard music.
Let me explain:
Imagine eating poop for seven years and understanding it to be decent quality food. You get to know the texture and consistency of the poop and you even begin to rely on your understanding of poop when you cook food for other people.

I am a music composer and sound designer by profession, I draw because I love visual art and I need a creative release that isn't related to my job/work.
Most of my drawing is going to Figure Drawing Workshops. I find these really great for improving my skill over time as well as providing me with opportunities to socialize with other artists as well as watch other artists create and draw and do their thing. I find it super educational to watch other people draw.
Other than that, I like to participate in forum activities and I'm trying to learn hand-drawn animation, so I also will just set personal goals (draw this, draw that, etc.). Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't! Hah!
